Callinan Mines Ltd. - Snow Lake
Cyr Drilling is active on Callinan Mine Snow Lake properties including the Berry Creek, Jean Lake and Watts River Claims. The initial drill program is focused on Berry Creek where the previous winter’s drill program (drill hole BR-4) contained anomalous copper, zinc, molybdenum and rhenium values over a 124.97 meter core length of altered quartz serecite schist and altered ryholite. The initial drill hole will be drilled to a depth of 550 meters and is designed to test under the 172.87 meter hole BR4. In addition, diamond drill holes are planned to test the downward extension of a mineralized gold zone intersected in diamond drill hole BR-1. This zone, bearing 1.26 g/mt gold across 6.49 meters of core length, including 15.40 g/mt gold across 0.47m, was intersected between 29.60 meters and 36.12 meters. The planned holes will test the depth of the mineralization.
Callinan Mines Ltd. - Fox River area
Cyr Drilling is conducting a 4,000 meter diamond drilling program has been designed on the Fox River property near Gillam, Manitoba. For this frontier nickel exploration area, where Callinan controls 203,750 hectares of ground on a structural extension of the Thompson Nickel Belt. The program will target structures identified by an airborne VTEM survey and confirmed by subsequent MMI (Mobile Metal Ion) geochemical surveys as potential nickel sulphide bodies. The anomalies in Fox River have been the subject of exploration since as early as the 1970s. Work done in and around the Fox River Sill since 1999 has shown that the mafic complexes native to the area do contain nickel and platinum bearing sulphides. Work done in 2000 recovered grab samples from mafic rock in the Fox River Sill itself containing 2.1% copper, 0.9% nickel and 5.5 g/t combined palladium, platinum and gold.
